Municipal equipment, briefly airborne

Air Cone

Air Cone, an orange and white traffic cone with two jet engines strapped to its sides

One curb assignment. Two unauthorized jet engines.

Greetings From Gate Zero

Air Cone was assigned to the terminal curb, where his duties involved standing still and being orange. He heard one engine overhead, mistook it for a promotion, and left the asphalt immediately. The curb remains unsupervised, but morale among low clouds has improved.

Unauthorized Ascent

His procedure is consistent: detect ordinary traffic, misclassify it as aviation, ignite both canisters, then occupy the exact patch of sky everyone else was using. Nobody authorized the ascent. Nobody has found the off switch.

  1. Curb Duty

Maintain order within one painted lane.

  2. Engine Noise

Treat every landing as a personal summons.

  3. Vertical Signal

Raise the cone until pilots acknowledge it.

  4. Cloud Diversion

Wave left at weather moving straight.

  5. Final Position

Hover above departures and look officially placed.

Ground control has lost the cone.
